I cried this morning on the metro. Johnny Nolan died and the undertaker took all the money from the insurance and Francie yelled at God and Williamsburg was colder than ever.
Leo would understand. But the woman sitting across from me gave me that non-look you give crazy people.

Men du hade väl din termosmugg? Och en liten smörgås? Så det var väl inte bara elände?
I cried too, and then I cried when Francie couldn't go to school but had to work instead. I think I cried once it was all over and done with as well, because I remembered those tender feelings of adolescence. Such a great book!
